Bow Wow is taking on a new job as a matchmaker in BET’s new series  After Happily Ever After.

The dating experiment will follow divorced and separated couples who face what’s holding them back from moving on and finding their new happily ever after. The cast includes Peter Gunz, Tara Wallace, Amina Buddafly, Jeremy Meeks, Melissa Meeks, “Mike Mike” Phillips, actress/singer Shar Jackson, comedian/actor/host Gary “G Thang” Johnson, YouTube personality/social media influencer/model Jayla Koriyan, and more.

According to the press release, the series will find the Bow Wow hosting a singles party with a new group of potential prospects for the daters.

The ex-spouses only attend these parties to determine who might be best suited for their former partner. The exes will invite one of the prospects to move into the house for 48 hours to date their former spouse. At the end of the two days, the dater will decide to either keep the prospect or send them back to the singles pool and take another opportunity to meet someone new.

In a conversation with BET.com, the Like Mike star shares why he decided to participate and host the series instead of a cast member.

“One thing I enjoyed the most was the growth of the cast members,” he expressed.

“This entire dating experience changed them. It’s very authentic and genuine, which is one thing I enjoyed. Peter Gunz is going to shock a lot of viewers as you watch where he ends up. This show was a test — it seemed fun because of the big mansion, the glitz, and the glamour, but they are in for a curveball.”

Iyanla Vanzant makes an appearance during the show to help couples and singles get to the next step to finding their true happiness.

When asked about how he and Vanzant serve as important factors to balance out the series, the Lottery Ticket actor shared it was “much needed.”

“She comes in for one episode but she’s much needed because as a host, I can only do but so much,” he expressed.

“To bring a special guest to the home is the perfect play because she can bring the pain, guilt, and hurt out of them. As for me, I’m there to keep the energy but still a listening ear if you need me in all ways. I’ve had to step in and let the fellas know they are out of control and they need to respect these queens and let them speak. It’s time where we get to the point and as the host, really own it. I’m excited for people to see it.”

The artist shares that journalist Amarachi Odinma and her ex Ugo Maduka are going to bring the most drama during the series.

“Amarachi and Ugo are going to give you so much drama and you don’t expect it from them at first because Ugo seemed like a comedian — a funny guy while Amarachi came off like a sweetheart, which she is, but also has this don’t play with em attitude, too,” he shared.

“They really get into man, like it’s for real. It’s definitely lit. Also, you know anytime Peter Gunz is on the television with Tara, it’s heat. Tara is a firecracker and I feel the women are going to love her. She’s speaking for so many women who have never been heard and when she speaks, the women may give their man a side look at their dudes. She’s going to be a fan favorite of the show, I promise you.”

Of course, the 35-year-old has had his fair share of high-profile relationships in the past, including a past engagement with Love Hip Hop star Erica Mena. When asked what his relationships taught him, he shared it taught him to not date again.

“For me, don’t date again,” he laughed.

“Every relationship I got out of, that’s what they told me and remind me why I don’t date. That’s what I left with. The positive side is, I can live with my mistakes and faults and keep moving. From my relationships, I can share how I already knew the outcome and I could live with that.”

As many are aware, many of your favorite celebrity couples are headed for divorce from Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict to Miguel and Nazanin Mandi. Although the Face-Off musician didn’t have any advice for married, he did share a piece of advice for any engaged couples who are gearing up to tie the knot.

“Take your time,” he expressed.

“Just because you put the ring on doesn’t mean you need to get married tomorrow. There are people who are engaged for 2-3 years. I would also mention communication is key, and don’t rush into it. Enjoy the engagement first because you want to make sure it works. Make sure it’s right because when you engaged, you can take the rings off — when you married, you can take the rings off, but it’s a longer process to separate, and there’s money involved.”

When asked about marriage for himself, while he doesn’t knock the union, it’s not in his cards.

“I have friends who are married and been the best man at my best friend’s wedding — I believe in it because I can see it work but it’s not for everyone and I’m one of those people,” he said.

“I have a hard time entertaining one person. It’s tough for someone to tell me to look at them and only pay attention to them. In my world, it’s not realistic [laughs]. I can’t even commit, and I wouldn’t want to hurt a woman or play with her time or emotions. It’s not in a doggish way — I’m friendly. The fight may be on, and I want a few ladies to come and kick it and I can’t do that with a girlfriend. I’m enjoying myself, having fun, being safe, and being respectful, and that’s how I will live my life until I’m gone.

When asked if he were to participate in the show and which ex he trusts to help him find a potential suitor, he shares Joie Chavis would be great at helping him select a possible mate.

Many have been wondering if the musician will drop music, and he mentioned he’s gearing up for the release of his seventh studio album, and it will be “more personal.” He revealed he’s spilling “so much tea” on the album and providing facts about the situations the world may be privy to. He continued, sharing how he will put his baby mama drama experiences, fatherhood, and much more into his music.

He also revealed fans can expect a documentary on his career soon and that it will possibly drop at the end of next year, also sharing Snoop Dogg submitted his commentary for the documentary.
