The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision newsletter reports the sequel to 2018’s Black Panther will resume production in January with Wright in attendance. The movie is currently on hiatus due to an injury Wright sustained while on set of the film. However, it has been reported that Wright was expressing anti-vaccine views on set, leading some to believe she would be making a departure from producing the Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

Wright has denied those reports, saying, "The report spoke about my conduct on the set of Black Panther 2. I honestly assert that this was completely untrue." Black Panther: Wakanda Forever paused production in November, however Wright had actually entered the hospital in August. For several months, the crew was able to film scenes that didn’t involve her, but that option seems to be exhausted at this point. It has been reported that Wright suffered a fractured shoulder and concussion during the on-set incident.

"Letitia has been recovering in London since September from injuries sustained on the set of Black Panther 2 and is looking forward to returning to work early 2022," a representative for the actor said in a statement in November. Wright plays Shuri, the sister of T'Challa / Black Panther (depicted by the late Chadwick Boseman) in the MCU. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated to open in theaters on November 11, 2022.
