Pitso Mosimane and Al Ahly have officially reached a ‘mutual agreement’ amid reported disputes over a contract extension this week.

As reported in the local media this week, there were concerns that Mosimane could even leave Al Ahly IF the two parties couldn’t find each other on the negotiation table. Mosimane was initially reported to be looking for a ‘protection clause’ where Al Ahly would have guaranteed him a full-year payment in the event that they sack him in the middle of his contract.

It was further reported that Mosimane had asked for a salary increase – meaning he wanted more than the reported R1.5 million per month he’s currently getting at Al Ahly. However, reports of a possible salary increase have now been dismissed by Al Ahly in an official statement. And the Club of Century has set the record straight with the terms agreed in a meeting with Mosimane. Here are the terms of the mutual agreement reached by Al Ahly and Mosimane….

  1. Pitso Mosimane to continue as head coach of Al Ahly
  2. No salary amendments will be made on Pitso Mosimane’s current contract.
  3. Pitso Mosimane did NOT ask for salary increase.
  4. Future matters to be addressed at the end of 2021-22 season.
