Apps on Samsung mobiles were reportedly crashing and not opening and Google says it has resolved the issue for some apps.

The problem appears to have stemmed from a system app called Android System WebView that is used to display web content. "The problem with Gmail has been resolved," said Google in a note on the Workspace Status Dashboard. "We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. "Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better."

To stop your apps from crashing on mobile, update both Google Chrome and Android System WebView on the Google Play app store. To do that, open the Play Store app, search for Android System WebView, and tap "Update." Users are advised to repeat the process on Google Chrome. Android users flocked to social media this morning to discuss the app issues they were facing.

Google acknowledged the issue and recommended that people use the desktop interface until issues were resolved. And AndroidCentral encouraged anyone experiencing the problem, whether on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or otherwise, to uninstall Android System WebView updates through the Play Store.
