In the two-hour television special broadcast on American TV network CBS, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex addressed rumours surrounding the couple's relationship with members of the royal family. Meghan told Winfrey she was deeply hurt by the way her son Archie was treated by members of the royal family and palace aides. While it was reported before Archie was born in 2019 that his parents did not want him to have a royal title or security, Meghan said those decisions were made for her.
