Renowned South African football coach Pitso Mosimane, currently coaching in the Saudi Pro League, is embroiled in a legal battle as a former domestic worker files a lawsuit against him and his wife.

The lawsuit alleges that the worker suffered serious injuries while carrying out renovation-related tasks at the couple's residence, resulting in a demand for R5.7 million in compensation.

Pitso Mosimane, a prominent figure in South African football and currently managing the Abha Club in the Saudi Pro League, finds himself entangled in a legal dispute back home. The Johannesburg High Court has become the battleground for a lawsuit filed against Mosimane and his wife, Moira Tlhagale, by Dorothy Sikirivao, a former domestic worker. The crux of the matter revolves around an incident purportedly occurring on or about April 26, 2021.

According to reports by Sunday World, Sikirivao asserts that while engaged in the removal of debris from the couple's residence during renovations, she suffered a debilitating accident. The court documents detail a harrowing list of injuries sustained by Sikirivao, including a crack in the skull, blood clots in the brain, dislocations, and fractures throughout her body, as well as spinal cord pressure and dislocations of the hip and leg.

The lawsuit paints a grim picture of Sikirivao's post-accident ordeal, alleging that despite her pleas for extended sick leave, the defendants purportedly ignored her requests. This purported neglect purportedly exacerbated her injuries, leading to a state of borderline disability. Sikirivao contends that the responsibility for her injuries lies squarely with Mosimane and Tlhagale, as they allegedly commissioned the construction work and instructed her to clear the debris.

The legal battle intensifies as the court documents reveal that an initial settlement proposal was allegedly rebuffed by Mosimane and his wife. Sikirivao now seeks recompense to the tune of R5.7 million, encompassing various elements such as compensation for loss of income, medical expenses, loss of amenities of life, and pain and suffering.

Mosimane, whose coaching career boasts stints with notable clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly, now faces a different kind of challenge off the pitch. The outcome of this legal tussle will undoubtedly reverberate within the realms of South African football and beyond.
