Isuzu delights fans with the launch of the new D-Max X-Rider double cab in South Africa, filling the void left by its absence in the previous generation.

Packed with sporty aesthetics and enhanced features, the X-Rider caters to discerning customers seeking both style and capability.

Isuzu enthusiasts in South Africa rejoice as the automotive manufacturer unveils the latest addition to its lineup, the D-Max X-Rider double cab. This eagerly awaited model fills a gap left by its absence in the previous generation, much to the delight of fans who appreciated its distinctive blend of sporty exterior accents and mid-range pricing.

The absence of the X-Rider model in the 2022 launch of the new-generation D-Max left some fans disappointed. However, Isuzu has responded to the demand by reintroducing the X-Rider variant in the latest D-Max lineup, marking its debut appearance alongside the LS and LSE variants.

Available in three configurations with a 1.9-litre double cab engine, the new X-Rider positions itself between the LS and LSE variants. Pricing starts at R640,500 for the manual 4x2 model, with the automatic variant priced slightly higher at R659,200. For those seeking off-road adventures, the 4x4 automatic version is available at R740,700.

Comparing the pricing to its predecessor, the new X-Rider models command a premium of R55,000 over the equivalent LS models. However, the additional cost is justified by a plethora of unique features both inside and out.

Externally, the X-Rider distinguishes itself with 18-inch 'diamond cut' alloy wheels, a gloss black grille adorned with red Isuzu lettering, and LED headlights and taillights. X-Rider badging on the front doors and tailgate, along with black Isuzu decal, further accentuate its exclusivity. Customers can choose from four exterior colors, all featuring contrasting black treatment for door handles, mirror caps, and the curved sports bar.

The sporty theme continues inside the cabin with red accents throughout, including red stitching on the leather seats. The seats, an upgrade from the LS model's cloth upholstery, boast 'X' logos on the headrests and dashboard above the glovebox. The black headlining adds to the X-Rider's distinctiveness.

Despite its focus on style, the X-Rider doesn't compromise on functionality. Standard interior features include cruise control, rear park assist with reverse camera, rear USB ports, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the X-Rider is powered by Isuzu's 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine, delivering 110kW and 350Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are available, catering to diverse driving preferences.

Isuzu emphasizes the X-Rider's appeal to customers seeking a blend of image, style, and capability. Kevin Fouche, Isuzu SA's product planning department executive, highlights the X-Rider's allure as "something special" for discerning buyers.

For peace of mind, the X-Rider comes with a five-year or 120,000km warranty and a five-year or 90,000km service plan, ensuring customers can enjoy their Isuzu experience with confidence.

In a market where consumers seek vehicles that reflect their personality and lifestyle, the Isuzu D-Max X-Rider stands out as a compelling choice, offering a unique combination of aesthetics and performance tailored to meet the demands of modern drivers.
