Kid Cudi, the acclaimed rapper and actor, is set to collaborate with animator Jeron Braxton on an exciting new animated film titled "Slime."

This dystopian project will mark Braxton's feature directorial debut, with Kid Cudi, known by his real name Scott Mescudi, taking on the roles of both star and producer.

The film's synopsis offers a glimpse into its intriguing narrative: "In a not-too-distant but all-too-dystopian future, Muna, an optimistic but broke young woman, signs up for a paid medical trial. Hope turns to horror when she is unknowingly injected with a foreign creature’s slime and begins to have visions she does not understand and unleash destructive powers she cannot control."

As the plot unfolds, Muna, played by Kid Cudi, finds herself hunted and desperate, leading to the kidnapping of Glenn, a lab worker from the mega-corporation responsible for the injection. Together, they embark on a terrifying odyssey in search of refuge and a cure. The central question looms: is it already too late to prevent Muna from transforming into a monster, a post-human savior, or something in between?

Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration with Jeron Braxton, Kid Cudi shared with Deadline, "I’m always looking for what’s new and always trying to elevate what we know about music, film, TV, and animation." He expressed gratitude for having Braxton on the team and anticipation for seeing him bring "Slime" to life, stating, "Mad Solar, we here."

Penned by Brian Ash, a writer known for his work on "The Boondocks," who also serves as the executive producer, the script promises a fusion of classic monster movie elements with contemporary video game visuals. Described as both "wickedly satirical and intensely scary, with a trippy edge," the film aims to offer a unique cinematic experience.

Kid Cudi, who ventured into animation in 2020 with Netflix's "Entergalactic," earning his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program, continues to explore the intersection of music and visual storytelling. As "Slime" takes shape, fans can anticipate a captivating blend of creativity, satire, and suspense, promising a cinematic venture that pushes boundaries and captivates audiences. While it remains unclear whether production has commenced, the collaboration between Kid Cudi and Jeron Braxton has undoubtedly piqued the interest of fans eagerly awaiting this animated odyssey.
