Rihanna's Super Bowl LVII performance has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a Guinness World Record for the most-watched halftime show in history.

Following her highly-anticipated comeback after over a five-year hiatus, the performance garnered a viewership of 121.017 million people, surpassing Katy Perry's previous record of 121 million during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.

Rihanna's halftime show became one of her most memorable performances, as she sang while suspended above the field, proudly showcasing her growing baby bump. Subsequently, she welcomed her second child, Riot Rose Mayers, on August 1, with her partner A$AP Rocky.

Initially, Nielsen Holdings reported that Rihanna's performance had attracted 118.7 million viewers. However, they later adjusted the numbers due to "irregularities" in the audience measurement process back in February. Consequently, Rihanna's halftime show surpassed the viewership of any Super Bowl game by approximately 6 million viewers. Guinness World Records recognized that the 2023 Super Bowl had drawn 115.1 million viewers, thus exceeding the previous adjusted record of 114.442 million from 2015.

This latest achievement adds to Rihanna's impressive collection of Guinness World Records, which includes distinctions like the most consecutive years of UK No.1 singles, richest female musician, most cumulative weeks on the UK singles chart in a calendar year, and most digital No. 1 singles in the U.S.

According to Forbes, Rihanna's music experienced a significant surge in popularity following her Super Bowl performance, with a 211 percent increase in on-demand streams and a 390 percent rise in digital song sales. Additionally, her recent collaboration with Loewe on a "special edition" red cargo jumpsuit inspired by her Super Bowl halftime ensemble sold out within a day.

Fans can also anticipate new music from Rihanna, as she reportedly signed a contract worth around $39 million with Live Nation for her upcoming engagements and currently has two albums' worth of new material ready to be released.
