Singer Monica, real name Monica Denise Arnold , known for her contributions to 90s R&B, opened up about the emotional struggles experienced by accomplished artists in the music industry.

During her appearance on LeBron James' talk show, "The Shop’s Uninterrupted Live Tour" in Atlanta, the "Boy is Mine" singer revealed feelings of being undervalued in the music business.

At 42 years old, Monica shared that she has been able to enjoy her career by not setting expectations and not being preoccupied with statistics or awards. She expressed being overlooked in the industry, despite breaking records, and mentioned feeling like the most forgotten artist.

Monica acknowledged her lack of major awards but emphasized that this hasn't deterred her from living life on her terms and pursuing her passions freely. She highlighted a moment at the 'Soul Train Awards' where she was nominated for multiple categories but ultimately didn't win, yet she remained unfazed because awards were not her main motivation.

Despite a successful career spanning over three decades, Monica has yet to receive significant solo awards. She achieved her first Grammy win in 1999 for "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" with Brandy for their hit "The Boy Is Mine." Subsequently, she received another Grammy nomination in 2011 for her sixth studio album, "Still Standing."
