Actor Chris Tucker has successfully resolved a longstanding lawsuit concerning unpaid taxes amounting to nearly $10 million.

As reported by Bloomberg, the "Rush Hour" star recently reached an agreement to settle the case, agreeing to pay the IRS $3.58 million plus interest to cover federal income tax liabilities dating back to 2002, 2006, 2008, and 2010. The government had initially sought to collect $9.68 million from Tucker. His financial challenges extend over a decade, with a prior settlement in 2014 to address a $14 million debt with the IRS, resulting from a lien on one of his properties. Representatives for Tucker attributed these financial issues to "poor accounting and business management."

In 2010, 2011, and 2016, Tucker engaged in discussions with the IRS to establish an installment payment plan. The proposed arrangement involved making payments ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 over a ten-year period. However, the plan unraveled when it became evident that he couldn't settle the debt within the specified timeframe allowed for tax collection for each respective year.

Legal documents revealed that Tucker, despite having sufficient equity and cash, failed to make payments during this period, exacerbating his tax woes.
