The organizers of the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival Powered by LottoStar are currently looking into allegations of mistreatment involving legendary South African musician Ringo Madlingozi, which led to him cutting his performance short.

Ringo Madlingozi took the stage on the first day of the popular festival but encountered grievances with the organizers, resulting in his set being cut short. Videos circulating online capture moments where Madlingozi, in the midst of his set, informed the audience that he would not be returning to the festival and proceeded to walk off the stage. Shortly before heading backstage, he was seen making a gesture that appeared to be the middle finger.

In response, Funeka Peppeta, the media director for The DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival, stated that the festival is committed to treating all artists with the highest level of respect and professionalism. Peppeta emphasized that over the festival's ten-year history, they have actively supported numerous South African talents through live performances and providing a platform for them to showcase their talents to festival attendees, media, and social platforms.

Madlingozi did not seek special treatment but expressed concerns about being mistreated by security, his position as the opening act, and the abrupt truncation of his allocated performance time. Peppeta acknowledged that Madlingozi's complaint is of significant concern to the organization, and they are taking immediate action to investigate and address the issue. Every artist, regardless of their position in the lineup, is assured equal treatment and consideration, from the time they are booked to their experience on site. The organizers are committed to resolving the matter promptly and ensuring a fair and respectful environment for all artists.
