President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe has expressed his approval of the election results and has rejected claims of irregularities in the polls.

Mnangagwa stated that the results were a product of a democratic process, and he believes that the elections were conducted in a peaceful manner. He advised those who have concerns about irregularities in the elections to use the appropriate channels to file their complaints.

The president asserted that he won the election fairly and emphasized that the process was characterized by transparency. He also highlighted the peaceful and transparent nature of the elections and the significant voter turnout.

Mnangagwa said, "Can I assure you that I did not conduct the elections. I competed with them in this race to win the elections, and I am happy that I have won the race. I think those who feel the race was not run properly know where to go and complain. I am so happy that the race was run peacefully, transparently, and fairly in broad daylight. I am happy there was a huge turnout by our people. I am sure very few people in this country will say the elections were marred by violence because there was no violence at all."

However, it's worth noting that the SADC (Southern African Development Community) observer mission and the international community have expressed concerns, stating that the elections did not meet democratic standards.

Zanu-PF had previously criticized Nevers Mumba, the head of the SADC observer mission and former vice president of Zambia. Nevertheless, SADC defended Mumba, asserting that their observations were based on what their members had witnessed on the ground in various parts of Zimbabwe.

The opposition Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) has alleged that the elections were rigged and has announced its intention to take steps to address the issue.

This marks the second time that CCC leader Nelson Chamisa has lost to President Mnangagwa in an election.
