Magic City is a second home for me. Its the one place where celebrities, hustlers, politicians, and Atlanta locals all come together, Dupri said in a statement about the series. Ive watched it evolve over the years from a local joint to an internationally-recognized spot. Its about time we tell this story the right way.

The three-part series is directed by Charles Todd and features interviews with Nelly, 2 Chainz, Quavo, Killer Mike, Big Boi, NBA legend Shaquille ONeal, and others. Deadline reports that An American Fantasy will explore Hip-hop, crime, womens sexuality, Black entrepreneurship, and socio-economic politics, as well as look into the clubs founder, Michael Mr. Magic Barney. The inner workings of Magic City and its prevalence in Hip Hop are remarkably mysterious its a wonder the story has yet to be told, said Jami Gertz, executive producer of the series. Atlanta is my adopted home and a place Im looking forward to celebrating through this story. The release date for the series has yet to be announced.
