The first trailer for Apple TV+ highly anticipated sports documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated has finally arrived.  Presented by Apple Original Film and A24, the film will take an in-depth look at the life and unlikely athletic career of Stephen “Steph” Curry. After an initial watch, it’s clear that not many people thought the now 4-time Golden State Warrior champion would become the NBA star he is today.  Curry also reveals in the trailer that it wasn’t until he went to Davidson College that he “first really understood” that he was “different.” The 35-year-old reflected on his road to success in the clip, stating, “I was the undersized scrawny kid that was just trying to figure out how to make it. I was overwhelmed by everything. How would I respond? Let the work begin.” The movie will also explore how Curry influenced the sport with his signature three-point shooting, his 2009 draft night, and more including interviews from those who know the athlete. The film was directed and produced by Peter Nicks with additional production by Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler through Proximity Media, and many more. Stephen Curry: Underrated will be released in theaters and premiere globally on Apple TV+ on July 21, 2023.
