Witnesses say that Ronnie appeared to be in respiratory distress before he passed.

TMZ reported Ronnie Turner passed away in San Fernando Valley, California, on Thursday. Police told the news outlet that emergency services were called to the home by an unknown person. The person claimed Turner was outside of their house and appeared to be in respiratory distress. Just minutes later, the 62-year-old stopped breathing. Paramedics arrived at the scene where do-gooders were already trying to perform lifesaving CPR on the man. Their efforts failed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No confirmation was given as to what may have led up to Turner’s medical emergency. He had previously been diagnosed with cancer and survived. Turner was a former bass player at the height of his famous mother and father, Ike Turner’s career. He wasn’t particularly close to his superstar mom, and his older brother Craig (who had a relationship with the icon) committed suicide in 2018. The Californian married Afida Turner in 2007.
