Young and emerging woman DJs with ambition stand to get some tender care throughout <br>the 16th annual RedSquare Dj KnockOut Challenge.

Consequently, the menu of the 2022 leg of the competition has a semifinal exclusive tofemale participants. The top three feminine DJ finalists will automatically have spots tobattle it out in the Grand Finale on 16 December 2022 at Dickinson Park in Vereeniging.Indeed, the RedSquare rose carpet gets rolled out for a valid reason. That is because, in thesixteen-year history of the DJ Knock challenge, only one woman got crowned. Additionally, just a few female DJs cracked the top three finalists list. Therefore, Victor Selaelo, Director of Market Development at Halewood Artisanal Spiritcompany, says:

"Over the years, we have seen females participate in the competition, but then they fizzle out, leading to the semifinals. It is something that is of concern to us. That is because we support the representation of women up to the finals of the competition. We are a brand that is behind gender parity and equal opportunity. So, we embarked on a fact-finding mission. The results indicate most female participants feel unwelcome by the male dominance of the competition. Therefore, a separate semifinal for female participants is an attempt at correcting the situation."

Furthermore, patrons of the RedSquare DJ knockOut can look forward to winning prizes through competitions that will run on Y-FM closer to the RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge Finale. The first prize winner of the 2022 RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge will walk towards Christmas and the new year knowing they got R120 000 in the bag. The second-placed winner gets to pocket R10 000. Finally, the third-placed will receive R5 000 in cash. In addition, Selaelo says..., "After a difficult period for the entertainment and lifestyle sector, we are excited about returning to our home venue for the final - Dickinson Park in Vereeniging.

Owing to the years Covid19 lockdown restrictions, we could not stage the Knockout at Dickinson. We did not want to risk things by staging the event there. That is because we know the venue always sells out whenever the KnockOut gets staged at its original home in the Vaal." Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the early bird ticket special limited to the first 2000 tickets at R120 each. After that, a pass sells for R180, and those preferring to buy at the gate pop out R220. A VIP ticket is R800 at Computicket.
