His daughter, Ch-a Mosley, said on Facebook that he was “surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully.” She continued, “We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

No cause of death was immediately given. However, Ch-a Mosley said in an earlier Facebook post that her father was in “a major car accident that has left him paralyzed from the shoulder down” and in critical condition. According to Deadline, the veteran actor appeared in 158 episodes of the original Magnum P.I., which starred Tom Selleck, during the program’s eight-year run that began in 1980.
