Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has revealed how he underwent a coronavirus test – after two weeks in quarantine in his native Argentina.

The test came back negative, but United No.2 Sergio Romero endured a difficult trip back to Buenos Aires, where he remained in his seat for the entire 14-hour flight, over concerns about COVID-19.

Once back in the Argentine capital, Sergio Romero, 33, was forced to spend a fortnight self-isolating in a hotel, before taking the test, and it was a further three days before the result came back and he was allowed to go to his home and be reunited with his family.

Sergio Romero, who remains in his homeland during football's enforced break, said: “I came back to Argentina on March 22. "I did my travelling, which was really, really hard because I went in a car from Manchester to London.

“After that, I took a plane from London to Paris. Not many people were at the airport, but all the people were keeping a safe distance from each other. “All of the people were looking nervous or badly to the other people because sometimes someone does this [sneezes].
