Tracee Ellis Ross is joining forces with H&M and Buy From Black Women to help Black women flourish in entrepreneurship with the proper access to funding, education, and an online directory.

As a businesswoman, Ross understands the struggles of getting a brand off the ground. Hoping to help other bosses thrive, the actress was recently named the 2022 ambassador for HM’s partnership with Buy From Black Women, a nonprofit created by Nikki Porcher in 2016. According to the nonprofit's website, "Buy from a Black Woman ensures that Black Women have the tools and resources that will allow them to be successful. Through educational programs, an online directory, and funding, Buy from a Black Woman continues to grow as a trusted resource that helps Black Women in business."

AfroTech reports HM is donating $250,000 to the cause. The retail giant is also sponsoring the Buy From Black Woman Inspire Tour, which will shine a light on numerous businesses, both big and small. “I am proud to help support Buy From a Black Woman and the incredible network of business owners they’ve brought together,” Ross expressed in a press release, according to AfroTech. “Black women and their contributions are often overlooked, which is why it’s crucial for us to come together to build, strengthen and create our own opportunities for success.” Porcher genuinely expressed her excitement for the collaboration with Ross.

She explained, “It’s hard to describe in words what it means to have Tracee Ellis Ross as an ambassador for Buy From A Black Woman. This year we are celebrating and showing the world that Black Women are living examples. I couldn’t think of a better example to help us spread our message of just how important it is to buy from and support Black Women Business Owners better than Ms. Ross. We are truly honored to work with her and to continue our partnership with HM.” There’s no denying the struggles of getting a business off the ground without proper support, so we seriously love the initiative to provide everyone with a seat at the table. Cheers to Ross on her continued efforts in uplifting Black women! You are appreciated.
