The actress is opening up about her healing process after divorcing her husband of nearly 10 years, DeVon Franklin.

Meagan Good is opening up about life after divorcing her husband of nearly 10 years, DeVon Franklin. During an hour-long discussion on Twitter Spaces, the Harlem actress talked with her fellow castmates about a wide range of topics, including love and heartbreak. “Throughout life, I’ve always approached relationships with an understanding that at some point, they’ll get to the place that they’re going to, and then they would be over,” Meagan revealed in the candid conversation moderated by xoNecole. “I’ve always had an attitude of like, 'Alright, next chapter. We’ll see what’s next.'” Meagan went on to reveal that divorce changed her perspective on breakups, especially since she thought she would spend the rest of her life with DeVon. She explained, “In my situation right now, it’s a little bit different because I thought that that would be the last time that I would ever be doing that and that I would be doing this with that person forever.”

In December 2021, news broke that Meagan Good and Devon Franklin were getting a divorce. The pair, who married in June 2012, later confirmed their split via identical Instagram messages that stated that they "prayed" about the decision. Unfortunately, Meagan described the divorce as "the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life." Meagan, who is on a path to self-healing, says she is still optimistic about the future. “Not everything makes sense to me right now, but I do trust God overall and I’m excited to see what this next act of life is going to be and what God has in store.” She continued, “That’s all I can really do, but even in doing that, I do have gratitude and so much joy in my heart for these past 11 years that DeVon and I have been together. What he’s given into my life and what I was able to give to him—just everything. Every season, every part of it has been incredible.”

Despite the fact that she is still "grieving" over her divorce, the 40-year-old beauty has a positive outlook on the situation, along with a lesson for others. “I think it’s important for every relationship to know that it’s really about perspective and it really is how you perceive and look at things." She continued, "[Also] trust in God in the process no matter what it is because your faith in God is only valuable when it is being tested [...] that's when faith actually matters."
