Carlos Foglia (The Lost Symbol), Ashley Nicole Black (A Black Lady Sketch Show), and Keith Josef Adkins (P-Valley) are the writers and executive producers behind the dramatic series, which is currently titled, The Other Hamilton. The series tells the true story of Jeremiah Hamilton, a Haitian immigrant turned Wall Street tycoon in the 1800’s who became one of the first Black millionaires by unscrupulous methods.

Based on the Shane White book Prince of Darkness: The Untold Story of Jeremiah G. Hamilton, will find the as-yet-announced lead star using those scams to capitalize on others’ losses as he builds up his wealth. The Other Hamilton marks the latest collaboration between Don Cheadle and acclaimed filmmaker Steven Soderbergh. The two have worked together on projects including Out of Sight, Traffic, the Ocean’s Eleven franchise, and most recently the HBO Max film, No Sudden Move.

Cheadle currently stars in Black Monday, another Wall Street inspired comedy-drama that airs on Showtime, and serves as the narrator for ABC’s reboot of The Wonder Years. Also, according to Deadline, Cheadle will executive produce a series on the origin of the Black Lives Matter movement based on Wesley Lowery’s New York Times bestseller, They Can’t Kill Us All. The show will be turned into a television show for AMC, reports Deadline and looks at the movement from its inception in Ferguson, Missouri, following the shooting death of Michael Brown, and throughout its rise from 2014.
