Popular mafia metaverse project SYN CITY is announcing they’ve named Swae Lee their Chief Entertainment Officer.

According to Crypto Briefing, the five-time Grammy nominee and half of the Hip Hop duo Rae Stremmurd will be tasked with streamlining the upcoming clash between digital art, music, and metaverse gaming in the coming year. He’ll also put his music and entertainment industry experience to use while focusing on strategy, revenue, and relationships for the fast-growing SYN CITY metaverse.

“In a short time, we have onboarded dozens of key opinion leaders, partners, and innovators with an aggregated user base of over 160 million users across social platforms,” SYN CITY co-founder Roy Liu said in a statement, according to Crypto Briefing. “We are only at the beginning. Our ambition was always to attract intellectual capital and talent to augment our constant, live feedback with our community via Twitter Spaces, TikTok and more. We needed real expertise in these fields to help SYN CITY surpass the next level. Swae Lee checks all the right boxes across the board.”

Lee is slated to oversee day-to-day operations in entertainment marketing, music, non-fungible tokens, sSports, A-List KOLs, music tech software, and building strategic partnerships in the sports industry. Swae also commented about his appointment, which he says he’s very excited about. “I always do stuff that is interesting, either to me or my millions of followers,” he said, according to Crypto Globe. “I live in the moment, yet I also enjoy trying and exploring new things. The concept of SYN CITY struck a chord with me because it allows me to visualize some of my ideas and I get to be part of a new frontier in technology. It makes me optimistic for the future of our society.”

According to USA Today, the Metaverse is “an online virtual world which incorporates augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D holographic avatars, video and other means of communication.” It’s also a “hyper-real alternative world” to the one that we actually live on and is big in the gaming world. Swae Lee recently collaborated with Jhené Aiko, releasing an official video for their hit collaboration “In The Dark” from Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.
