However, earlier this month, he decided to cancel the whole thing due to rising coronavirus cases in Florida and across the nation. Diddy last hosted his NYE bash in 2019, the year before awareness of the pandemic hit, but was forced to cancel in 2020. Like many people, he likely hoped that vaccine availability would mean celebrations could return in 2021, but the new Omicron variant has thrown a wrench in New Year’s Eve plans.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. daily record for COVID-19 cases was broken on Tuesday (December 28). Additionally, the seven-day average of U.S. cases topped 267,000 on Tuesday. In 2019, Diddy’s NYE party saw celebrities like Fat Joe, Meek Mill, DaBaby, DJ Khaled and Winnie Harlow pack into Story Nightclub in Miami.
