According to TMZ, the NBA legend-turned entrepreneur’s suit states he and his fellow plaintiff, Jerome Crawford, invested $150,000 into a new weed business back in December 2016. O’Neal claims their investment was supposed to help the company “pursue opportunities in the field of legal cannabis.”
Shaq also asserts in the lawsuit that by late 2017 the company “seemingly had no licenses, no revenue, and no operations.” When he and his attorneys pressed for details about how their money was being purposed, the company didn’t immediately respond.
The following year, O’Neal claims in the lawsuit he threatened litigation with the company agreeing to repay him and Crawford back in $10,000 installments. Only $20,000 of that money was paid out, according to the former Lakers center, so he’s suing to get back his initial investment plus interest.
