The body of 16-year-old Gauteng resident Neo Mahlangu has been found several weeks after she went missing and it’s been revealed that her aunt and younger cousin are suspected of murder.

After a lengthy search, police and a K9 unit were tipped off about a large hole that had been dug at a property in Tsakane, East Rand. When cops arrived at the scene, they were taken aback by the size of the excavation. According to the police, the aunt had employed people to dig out the hole for her, under the pretence that she was installing a large water tank. However, the Jojo was never received, and suspicion started to grow.

Over the weekend, Gauteng cops were summoned to the premises and they made a grim discovery. The body of Neo Mahlangu was found at the bottom of the hole, wrapped up in a black binbag. The aunt has been arrested, and her son aged just 14 has also been detained. The pair are likely to face murder charges in the coming days, as law enforcement officials scramble to establish a motive.
