The PSL disciplinary committee handed down their verdict on Thursday finding the Uruguayan guilty of assaulting SuperSport United players Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman during the MTN8 fixture on 18 September 2019.

Sundowns have been found guilty of bringing the League into disrepute over and above the charges levelled at Gaston Sirino.

The PSL banned Cape Town City player Mpho Makola for six months after finding him guilty of a similar offence, but he was accused of assaulting a match official. That punishment was later reduced on appeal.

Earlier this week Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane suggested that Gaston Sirino should consider applying for South African citizenship to be considered for Bafana Bafana.
