South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli said Anti-Gang Unit members were patrolling the area when they received information about a woman selling drugs. They followed the information to a house in Dinotshing and found mandrax and crystal meth (tik) with a street value of approximately R60 000 after searching the property. “Members continued the search and found more than 70 identity documents, a driver’s licence, three passports, 56 bank cards and an undisclosed amount of money,” said the police spokesperson.
The 72-year-old woman was arrested and is expected to face charges of dealing in drugs, contravention of the national credit act and contravention prevention of organised crime act (POCA) in the Zastron Magistrate’s Court soon.
