Fatima Issa, who also visited family during her trip to Johannesburg, lost her life in tragic and bizarre circumstances.

According to anti-crime advocate Yusuf Abramjee, she was struck by a rogue bullet. A firearm was allegedly discharged by a relative, who was cleaning a gun at the time. Paramedics rushed to the scene at Meyersdal View Estate. Sadly, they were unable to revive the victim. A police investigation is now underway. There are still many questions to be answered. Indeed, the decision to clean the gun while it was loaded will come under further scrutiny. Alas, a family has lost a devoted daughter and wife. Fatima Issa was also a mother to four children.

Her partner Fayaz Issa has travelled with her to Johannesburg, as well. The UK-based pair, who live in Leicester, have holidayed in South Africa before – most notably enjoying visits to Cape Town. The brother of the deceased confirmed her passing earlier, with this heartbreaking Facebook post. Local sources in Leicester have since revealed that other relatives of Fatima Issa are now making plans to fly out to South Africa. Meanwhile, her coworkers at The City of Leicester College have expressed their ‘shock and sadness’, after learning about Issa’s untimely demise.
